Why France?
Industry 4.0
In France, the industry of the future already generates a turnover of 6.8 billion euros. Automatization, robotics, data crunching and analysis, predictive maintenance, the cloud, big data, the Internet of Things, cyber security, additive manufacturing: at least 729 French companies offer technologies that will help transform the industry. The government has fully understood the high stakes of this digital revolution: 450 million euros have been dedicated to the industry of the future through the future investment program.
Mobility & Smart City
The French smart mobility market is worth €4.5 billion a year, and employs 45,000 people. Increasing numbers of public and private initiatives are encouraging the development of intelligent transport systems, such as the French Environment and Energy Management Agency ADEME’s Fabrique des Mobilités group. (ATEC ITS France, 2016)
French cities have no hesitation in working with foreign businesses. For example, Greater Lyon works with the Japanese technological institute NEDO and Toshiba, while Montpellier has signed a smart city partnership with IBM.
